Perry Barr in the past
Rock Farm around 1910 was from 1840-1920's was owned by the Gough-Calthorpe family prior to that it was owned by the Wyrly-Birch family. Prior to 1845 the tennant farmer was William Shelton. From 1845 until 1925 was farmed by the Allin family.

Leaving the traffic island halfway along Rocky Lane we head down the hill towards Hamstead Village. Today a large number of companies can be found along Baltimore Road which can be seen opposite in an image taken from Coleraine Road
